Hi my name is Scott Nolan a designer and photographer based in Sydney and currently working in the Digital Advertising Unit at The White Agency
A designer is someone who works to find solutions to problems, and that is what I love to do. Throughout my career I have been doing more visual and creative work, but problem solving none the less. I also enjoy working with and exploring different disciplines, including 3D, motion graphics and illustration. I’m my hardest critic, but since I get consumed in so many aspects of each project, I enjoy hearing other peoples informed opinions and a new set of eyes is always beneficial.
From an early age I have been passionate about creative expression. One of my oldest memories was tracing cartoons from a “Blinky Bill” colouring in book, and I’m sure I was a terror with a crayon before that. Whilst I was growing up my parents supported this drawing endevour and let me go to countless cartoon workshops and some realistic ones too… My Dad was a quite skilled hobbyist photographer and when I was coming to the end of high school, I purchased my first proper SLR and he and I attended a foundation course in black and white photography. The skills I learned helped with my final year 12 project and that with other person projects got me into Charles Sturt University
I finished my 4 year double degree in Graphic Design and Visual Effects in 2007. I jumped into the digital world without any training and quickly found my feet with the amazing mentoring of Creative Director Kevin Ferry. Prior to The White Agency I worked at three agencies; Bullseye, Holler and Digital Eskimo, and each one has been great.
